Moore News (June 2025)

Hey everybody, Andy here. Just want to give a quick update on everything going on in Cornerstone, the Moore household, and finances as well.

First, Cornerstone:
Our summer program has begun — what we call Summerstone — where we do a weekly Bible study, which will actually be a podcast study this summer. In it, we’re talking about verses that are usually plucked out of context. It's a great way to learn why we can’t do that — we need the full meaning behind a verse to understand what the author was trying to say to the original audience.

Summer is also a wonderful time to build morale. It's a very chill time to get to know each other a little better, as well as dive into God’s Word.

As far as the Moore household:
There’s a lot going on right now. As you may have seen, I am now officially ordained! I’m now Reverend Andy Moore — but please, just call me Andy. I also have a new title at Bellefield: Assistant Pastor for Campus Ministry.

For those asking, “Am I still with the CCO?” — the answer is yes! I'm still with the CCO. I love college ministry — it's my passion, it’s my gifting — and I can’t really see myself doing anything else. This new role just means I have more responsibility with the church, which I’m glad to help with and serve in however I can.

Also, you may have seen that Benjamin officially graduated from SciTech! We’re so proud of him. He got in front of everybody, said the Pledge of Allegiance — it was just a very cool, very emotional moment for me, as you can imagine, being an emotional person — to see how far he’s come. We’re proud of him and looking forward to what God will do through him and with him at Pitt.

As far as finances:
Last month was a wonderful month — thank you to all who chipped in and gave above and beyond. It's so meaningful to see how God has worked through you, and for us to rely on Him and His provision.

That said, we could always use more help. We need monthly donors. We need one-time donations. So I’m asking: if you already give, would you consider increasing your gift by 10–25%? Or, if you’d prefer to make a one-time donation, that’s great too.

Another way to help is by sharing — share this video, share our needs with your friends or family. Put them in touch with me — I’d love to talk with them about what I do and what God is doing through students.

Thank you so much to those who give and continue to give. I’m praying for you and praying that God blesses you richly this summer.

Thank you so much.

Andy: Hey everybody, Andy here! I'm joined today by student leader Logan. Logan, why don’t you tell everyone a little about yourself?

Logan: Hi, I’m Logan. I’m a rising junior here at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Computer Science. I'm originally from the Harrisburg area.

Andy: Awesome! And what’s your role in leadership?

Logan: I’m part of the Wednesday Night team here at Cornerstone. I help plan our large group gatherings, coordinate events, and take care of a lot of the behind-the-scenes logistics that need to get done.

Andy: Yeah, Logan does a ton for our ministry. So how did you first hear about Cornerstone?

Logan: I was actually recommended by a high school friend to get involved with the CCO. He just graduated from university last month and is now a youth pastor. When he was attending Pitt, he told me, “Hey, the CCO is based in Pittsburgh. I really enjoy my group here—you should get involved.” So I went to the activities fair, met Bobbi, and later that day at 5 PM, I met you, Andy. I’ve been involved ever since.

Andy: That’s awesome—we’re really glad to have you here. What would you say Cornerstone has meant to you?

Logan: For me, Cornerstone has been a really refreshing place. Even though a lot of our events are at night—later than I’m usually active—it’s still a time where I feel re-energized. It’s a place where I have real friendships and we can dig into meaningful conversations—about life, the Bible, and even just fun, random debates you never knew you needed to have.

Andy: That’s so great. Is there anything you’d like to say to my supporters?

Logan: Yes—thank you! This community has grown so much because of your support and generosity. If you’re able to continue supporting us, we’d love that. And if you’d ever like to talk or learn more about what we’re doing, I’d be happy to share more.

Andy: Thanks so much, Logan. And thank you all for watching and supporting. There’s still time to give—check out the link below or in my bio. Thanks again, Logan!

Logan: Thank you!

Andy: God bless.
