Meet the Students: Everett Harrington

Andy: Hey everybody. I am here with student leader Everett. So Everett, why don’t you tell everybody about yourself?

Everett: Hi! I’m a third-year student, and I’m currently a double major in Applied Mathematics and Music Composition.

Andy: Awesome. And how did you find out about Cornerstone?

Everett: It was my freshman year, and both my parents went to Pitt. My mom specifically had gone to Cornerstone, and she said, “If it’s still there, you should check it out.” My brother, Asher, and I were like, “I don’t know… school’s hard. Let’s settle in first.” Eventually, later that semester, she said, “All right, you’re going to go.” And I thought it was really cool. It was a very welcoming environment the first time we went.

Andy: That’s awesome. And thank you, Mama Harrington, for giving us your kids!

Everett: Yeah. Shoutout to Debbie.

Andy: So, what has Cornerstone meant to you?

Everett: The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Cornerstone is community. Like I said—the welcoming environment. I think we’ve done a really good job with invitation and just being a place where people feel like they belong. That’s something that’s really stood out to me and something I’ve seen grow during my time at Cornerstone.

Andy: That’s awesome. We’re so glad to have you in Cornerstone. Is there anything you’d like to say to my supporters, my friends who are watching this?

Everett: Thanks for all that you do. I think it’s really cool that we can continue to be a great organization for others—for outreach and invitation—because of you. So, thank you.

Andy: Well said. There’s still plenty of time to donate. The links will be in my bio and below. And thank you to Everett, and thank you all for watching!

Moore News (April 2025)

Hey everybody, Andy here!

I just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s going on with Cornerstone, the Moore household, and a little update on finances.

As many of you saw from a video I posted about a month ago, I went on a spring break trip to Wilmington, North Carolina with Habitat for Humanity. This was actually my fourth time going to Wilmington, and once again, we helped build low-income housing from the foundation up. It was a wonderful trip. We had about 20 students with us, and we had an absolute blast. There are honestly so many great stories I could share, but I’ll spare you a long video.

Actually, just yesterday, those 20 students came over to my place for an Easter meal. Since becoming the Habitat adviser, it's become a tradition for me to host an Easter meal for the students each year. This time, we went non-traditional and had a pasta bar! It was such a fun time of fellowship, great food, and community.

That said, this season is a bit bittersweet. I want to share some news with you: I'm stepping down as the adviser for Habitat for Humanity. It’s a role I’ve held for nearly 10 years, and it has meant so much to me. But with my upcoming ordination, I’ve felt the need to step away. It wasn’t an easy decision at all, because I love those students and the work deeply, but I do feel it’s time to move on.

The good news is that my coworker, Boaz Moser, will be taking over the adviser role. He’ll do a great job, and I’m excited to see where he takes the program.

Speaking of ordination, I’m happy to share that I’ve passed my written exams (praise the Lord!), and I’m now preparing for my oral exams. If all goes well, I hope to be officially ordained in late May or early June. Please keep me in your prayers for that!

As for the Moore household, things are mostly the same. Ben is getting ready to graduate in just a couple of months - hard to believe! - and then he’ll be heading to Pitt. Josh is starting to look at colleges this summer. He hasn’t made a final decision yet, but I’ll keep you posted once he does.

Now, a quick word on finances. Last month (March) wasn’t a strong month for giving - I was about $1,000 short. Thankfully, because of your past generosity, my ministry account is in a good place and there's no need to worry. But I did want to be transparent and make you aware.

If you're able and feel led to give - whether it’s a one-time donation or a monthly gift - every bit helps and is deeply appreciated. You can find the giving links below or in my bio.

Thank you so much for supporting me, for praying for me, and for praying for students to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Please keep my family and the students in your prayers, especially over the summer.

Thank you all so much, and God bless you!

Meet the Students - Rachel Dickerson

Andy:
Hey everybody, Andy here! I’m joined today by student leader Rachel. So Rachel, why don’t you tell everyone a little about yourself?

Rachel: Yeah, for sure! I’m Rachel Dickerson, a junior at Pitt. I’m majoring in Public Health and I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. I came all the way here because I’m also on the swim and dive team at Pitt. But more than that, the Lord led me to Cornerstone, and I’ve been really blessed to be part of that community.

Andy: That’s awesome! How did you first hear about Cornerstone?

Rachel: So, funny story—during O-Week (orientation week), I was walking around campus with my family and some Cornerstone alumni were handing out water bottles. I grabbed one, drank all the water, but kept the empty bottle on my desk… for like four months! Eventually, I looked at it one day and thought, “You know what, maybe this is a sign.” So I checked it out—and I’ve been coming ever since!

Andy: That’s great! I’m glad to hear the water bottles still work. What would you say Cornerstone has meant to you?

Rachel: Cornerstone has honestly meant everything to me. It’s been my biggest support system while I’ve been here. They’ve given me a family. Everyone here is like my closest people. Every time I walk in, it feels like home. I could rave about it forever—it’s truly become a huge part of my life.

Andy: I love that. And is there anything you’d like to say to the supporters who are listening right now?

Rachel: Absolutely! To Andy’s supporters—thank you so much. Your support not only helps Andy, but it helps students like me. I wouldn’t be here without you. I’m a leader in Cornerstone’s O.P.S. (Outreach, Prayer, and Service) program, and because of your generosity, I get to reach out to others and help grow this community. Andy has been an incredible mentor to me and so many others. So truly, thank you for all that you do!

Andy: Thank you, Rachel. And thank you to everyone who’s watched or listened to this. There’s still time to donate—I'll drop the links in my bio or below. Thank you all so much!
